“All Flavor No Labor.” cooking

Our all natural gourmet compound butters melt into a restaurant quality sauce instantly on anything hot you cook like fish, steak, chicken, veggies and starches like potatoes, pasta and rice without the chopping, prepping, and cleaning up component of making a sauce.
That’s why I say it’s “All flavor no labor.” 
 
As easy as:

  1. Season your fish, steak, chicken or pork chop with salt and pepper before cooking
  2. Grill or cook any other method to desired temperature
  3. Spread on the flavor while the food rests
  4. Enjoy!

Think of our butters as a spreadable sauce. If you can spread butter on toast you can spread on the gourmet flavor on your steak! Try on melting on grilled Asparagus and mixing in mashed potatoes as side dishes to make your meal complete.

Great for gourmet cooking like steaming shellfish, pan sauces, specialty pasta dishes braising meats and basting birds and roasts.

If you like spicy mussels try:

Habanero Butter and Beer Steamed Mussels.
These delicious hot and spicy mussels are so fast and easy to make once you have cleaned your mussels.
(Garlic lovers tip:  Heat a smashed garlic clove or two in extra virgin olive oil before adding Habanero Butter into the pot)
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon Scotch Hands Butter Co. Habanero butter or more for extra heat and broth.
3 pounds live mussels, cleaned* 
¾ cup beer or more for extra broth
Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste (or your favorite salt and pepper)
Warm crusty bread for dipping in broth optional but highly recommended! 

METHOD:

1) In a medium pot melt butter over a low to medium heat.
2) Add mussels and pour in beer. Cover pot and raise heat to medium high.         
3) Use a slotted spoon and place mussels into a bowl. Taste broth for salt and pepper and add accordingly. Pour broth over mussels and enjoy. 
Serve in a bowl as an appetizer with hot crusty bread or over pasta.         

CHEF TIPS:

Mussels should always be alive at cooking time. Discard any open mussel that will not close when squeezed with mild pressure.
*Clean Mussels by
1) Pulling any remaining beard bristles from mussel shell. 
2) Give each shell a scrub under cold water
3) Soak in clean cold water 30 prior to cooking. 
4 Pull mussels out of water with slotted spoon (draining in a colander would collect the sand and grit the mussels released) and rinse one more time. This is so worth the effort.
